Uthingo Pre-Comrades Ladies Gala Evening is a formal send-off dinner for women who will be running the Comrades Marathon each year. It is a platform to recognise and celebrate the efforts efforts and sacrifices; the journey and triumphant stories of women of South Africa training to run the Comrades Marathon each year. It is a platform to share inspiring individual running stories and experiences and to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle amongst like-minded women.
The event has grown significantly having started back in 2015 with only 12 women in attendance and is now a sell out event, two years consecutively. It is an evening of exclusivity and glamour with great speakers and entertaiment each year.

Uthingo Lwenkosazana Ladies Gala Evening is a formal event and platform to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts and sacrifices; the journey and triumphant stories of women of South Africa training to run the Comrades Marathon each year. I started hosting the event back in 2015 with 12 women in attendance. In 2016 I hosted 50 women and the demand has been overwhelming. In recognising how much time and dedication needed to training for this event I could not sit and not do anything. These are women with families, demanding careers and social responsibilities. This is my way to acknowledge their strength, will power and amazing dedication they give into this event. Although initially started with a Comrades Marathon runner in mind, event is open to supporters, aspiring women and just any woman who wants to be part of this amazing evening.
